OHARA INC. (Head office: Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa, Japan) established OHARA OPTICAL (HONG KONG) LTD. in May 2002, as a sales company in order to cope with the rapidly growing market of optical lens blanks in east Asia area, especially in China. This happened because optical devices manufacturing companies, including our customers accelerated to branch out in China.
Since more expansion of demands in this area is forecasted, OHARA OPTICAL (HONG KONG) LTD. increased its capital to H$ 7 million. In addition, to strengthen manufacturing and sales function, OHARA INC. established an pressed optical lens blanks production company in Third Industry Zone, Tan Chou Town, Zhong Shan City, Guangdong, China. This new company will start its operation in the end of year 2003.
